Provenance

Cut from a hand-woven olive harvest sack, Southern France, 18th century. Made to be filled, dragged, emptied, and filled again across groves and seasons. Olive harvest sacks were produced in farmhouses across Provence and Languedoc, carried freshly picked fruit from tree to press — often forty kilos or more in a single load. The cloth was never meant to outlast the harvest, let alone the century. That it has is simply what happens when something is built well enough.

The Making

Woven on narrow home looms from a wool-linen blend — the wool for body and resilience, the linen for structure under load. Heavy by necessity, with no concession to ornament. The color — deepened by olive oil, sun, and decades of contact with the earth — was never chosen. It arrived slowly, over time, the way all honest patina does.

The Garment

Vintage-inspired fit with dropped shoulders and a slightly tapered waist. Because this is cut from a single antique textile, there will never be another one exactly like it.
